Forest country Japan

I read the following article in the morning paper of "Nihon Keizai Shimbun" in the June 16, was surprised. It called the export of logs from Japan is increasing rapidly. Period of this year from January to April is, but year-on-year 52% increase.
Increase of the reason, the yen against the dollar, and it is the increase in wood supply.
Come to think of it, two thirds of Japan's land is covered in forest. The proportion's much the same as Finland and Sweden. Japan may say forest superpower.
This forest has been brought up the sensibility of Japanese. It is also reflected in the Japanese animation. We like the "My Neighbor Totoro" Hayao Miyazaki as an example.
Not only forest of Japan, forest around has become one of the culture of the mother. Forest we want to continue to be kept for the next generation.
