”Manekikanban” Signs to notify performers

The other day, I passed the front of "Minamiza" in Kyoto city.
Minamiza is said to be Japan's oldest theater that has continued since the Edo era, and a Kabuki play is being performed.

In December, Kabuki actors from the East and the West will be on stage. 
This performance is called "Kaomise". A lot of signs called "Manekikanban" are raised in Minamiza. It is Kyoto 's winter tradition.
They inform the performers.↓

This year will be held in Pontocho singing drama rather than Minamiza due to earthquake-resistant construction. 
However, "Manekikanban" is posted in Minamiza as usual.
This year is also about a week. Have a nice year - end.

Kyoto visit of His Majesty the Emperor

Late October, the Emperor and his wife visited Kyoto. 
They visited  Kamigamo shrine, Shimogamo shrine, but such as the Kyoto University research facility. 
And His Majesty attended the International College of Surgeons World General Assembly. 

Kyoto has deep relationship with the imperial family. And, many of the citizens of Kyoto feels familiar to the imperial family.
Because the Imperial Palace has been there since more than a thousand years. Even now, there are many places related to the imperial family in Kyoto.

If you come to Kyoto, you can visit that kind of place. The places I recommend is, Kyoto Imperial Palace, Kamigamo Shrine,  Shimogamo shrine. 
Those are very nice!

Sakura in the mark of the duty-free

In recent years, a lot of tourists began to come to Japan from abroad. Therefore, in the Kyoto are increasing duty-free shop. Recently I often see the mark of the display of the duty-free shop. The photo below is it.

Mark, similar to the design of the Japanese flag, is decorated with cherry blossom petals.
Japanese love cherry blossoms!
So I sing the song of cherry blossom, too.

I thought it was a good eye-catching design.
It is particularly good that cherry petals are decorated!

Nuit Blanche in Kyoto

The Nuit Blanche has been held on October 1 in Kyoto from a few years ago. 
Art and music events will be held in several places in the city. 
This is a thriving events in Paris. Kyoto City and Paris is a relationship of sister cities, therefore, it began to be held. 

I have participated in one of these events. 
I appeared this year, too. 
I sang two songs while playing the guitar. 
I thought, Music is so fun!

The listener in Philippines

I imagine the Philippines of the listener. 
I've been delivering the original songs abroad. It is "SAKURA"(The song of cherry blossoms in Japan). 
You can listen to this song on i-tunes,amazon and Spotify. Especially Spotify inform me within a few days listening data. 

According to the data, recently, there are people who are listening much to my songs in the Philippines. 
I want to thank. 
I wonder what kind of person. Whether the person is of the Filipino People? Or Japanese in the Philippines living in? The other person? Imagine swell.

Kyoto as a city of coffee

Kyoto is also a city of coffee.
Coffee is a drunk well in Kyoto.
With respect to coffee consumption per capita, in the prefectural capital and government-designated cities in Japan, Kyoto is the top.
Also this city has some coffee shops, which boast a history of more than 50 years.
The photograph is a head office of "Inoda coffee". Founded is 1940.

I like the appearance of calm of this shop. And I even prefer the atmosphere of the store.
This shop is a coffee shop that I can recommend you.

Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair Part 2

I introduced the Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair in the previous blog. This time it is the continuation. 
Limited products were popular. Matrix was seen in a variety of booths. 
I bought a time-limited batch of Kyoto subway girl.

Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair

Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair was held in the large exhibition hall of Kyoto city on September 17, 18 days.
This fair is the largest in western Japan as the pop culture of the Fair.
I went to the fair.
Lots of exhibition booths and events related to manga and anime and games!

I was looking around a lot of the booth. I had a very enjoyable time.
The event of the voice actor's is especially interesting.
Events of the official character "Metro Girl" of the Kyoto Municipal Subway was also good.
Also, I saw also foreign tourists at the venue.
I thought, "I wish there would be a foreign language of the voice guidance system."
Also it is scheduled to be held in 2017.
For those who like manga and anime and games I want to recommend this fair.

Kegon Falls in Japan

I am staying in Nikko, Tochigi Prefecture now.
Last night I came across an interesting poster Utsunomiya Station. It is a poster featuring a picture of a waterfall of Kegon.
Kegon Falls is a waterfall with most drop in Japan.
It is one of the attractions in Nikko.

Because Japan is mountainous, in Japan, many of the waterfall can be seen. If If you come to Japan, it is also good to see the waterfall.In particular, I want to recommend the Kegon Falls.

Sherlock Holmes in Japan

Sherlock Holmes is a detective to come out to the mystery novel written by Conan Doyle .

I was recently watching cartoons "Hyoka " .

" Hyoka " is an animation dealing with solving the mystery .


In the animation of the ending song , high school girls that resemble Sherlock Holmes appeared .

The popularity of Sherlock Holmes is high in Japan .

I 'm once used to read well , " Sherlock Holmes " .

"Okuribi"Kyoto Great Bonfire Event

On August 16, "Okuribi", case ceremonial bonfire is celebrated in Kyoto. 
It was unfortunate rain this year.

Too large eyes? @Japanese anime

I have watched recently after a long time the music video of "Tori no uta (in English Poetry of the bird)."

The song is the opening song of the anime "AIR".

Many anime fans in Japan have loved this song. I also love.!

This time, I felt that the pupil of the heroine who appeared in the "AIR" is too large.

Although the pupil of the girl that appeared in Japanese anime is large, not as much as this.

Gion Festival in Kyoto

Gion Festeval is held during July.
The first half of the parade of decorated floats of Gion Festival has ended on July 17 . Currently , it is the period of the second half of the festival .
Yesterday night , I went to see the floats . I was glad to see them.
They will parade the city of Kyoto on July 24.
Floats are also referred to as a museum to move.
I also agree.
New and old a variety of decoration has been decorated beautifully.

Sashimi is eaten well in Japan. 
You can eat a safe and delicious sashimi in Japan. 
An easy dish to enjoy the sashimi is a seafood bowl. 
It's bowl of rice topped with sashimi.

"Tsuyu" rainy season.

Japan of the majority is the rainy season. 
This season is called "Tsuyu". 
It means the rain to grow the fruit of plum. 
In this season, it is cloudy or rain. 
Kyoto will soon opened the rainy season. 
I expect the end of the rainy season.

Nikko cedar trees

Nikko is an international tourist destination.
World longest tree-lined streets there are in this city.
That's NIkko cedar trees.
Guinness Book of Records has certified that it is the longest tree-lined.
Total length is 37km, and trees have been planted 300 years ago. You can walk the tree-lined street in Nikko.
If you walk the tree-lined street in the summer, you will feel very cool. The chirping of birds you can hear in there.
Nikko cedar trees is where I want to recommend to you.

Kyoto University as a tourist spot

Kyoto University is a university representative of the Kyoto.
In Japan, next to the University of Tokyo, the evaluation is high.
Such Kyoto University, in fact, is also a tourist spot.
For example, its campus has a museum and a restaurant, they're popular.
"University President curry" is renowned in the restaurant.

JR Nikko line connects Utsunomiya and Nikko.

Flower arrangement of Japan that use the sunflower.

The other day, I saw sunflowers in Kyoto Karasuma Station.
These flowers has been used in "Ikebana" of Japan.
"Ikebana" is a traditional flower arrangement and an accomplishment.
Also in the "Ikebana", flowers are often used that handed down from foreign countries.
I like sunflower.
In "Ikebana", I felt the harmony of Japan and foreign culture.

The other day, I came across an interesting latte art in Kyoto Station. It's in the Italian cafe. It's a latte art of Maiko. 

You can see a variety of latte art in Japan! 

Drink of Euglena

In recent years in Japan, drink of Euglena has a lot of attention. Because that contains a variety of nutrients. 
I also occasionally drink a drink of Euglena.

The taste is not bad. 
That kind of drink can be purchased at supermarkets and convenience stores.

The cafe of Varistor that won the latte art world championship

May 15, I in Kyoto city, visited a cafe "arabica Kyoto". 
This shop is located near the tower of Yasaka. 
Chief varistor of this shop became a latte art world championship first place, which was held in Tokyo in 2015. 
I wanted to visite the shop to hear so. 
Unfortunately though I did not drink a latte of chief barista, the latte that another varistor has been brewed was grace. 
And it was delicious!

Tower of Yasaka is located in a place close to the Yasaka Shrine. The tower will suddenly appear in the narrow alley. 
It is a bit of landmark.

Midoro pond in Kyoto 1

Midoro pond lies in the northern part of the city of Kyoto. This pond is endowed with valuable biological layer. Ice Age of the vegetation remains even now. A lot of aquatic plants and aquatic insects can also be seen. The other day, I visited the pond. Wind was refreshing. A small dragonfly was flying in the pond. If you are interested in the environment and the ecosystem, the pond will be interesting for you.

Big umbrella is the bulk of the cat.

If you climb the front grand staircase of the Kyoto University of Art and Design, you can see the big umbrella.

This is an art object, the title is a "cat umbrella". Sato Taku produced it in 2007.
Because it is the umbrella of a few meters, how big cat is!

Wind power generation in Japan

Noon yesterday, I received an email with photo from an acquaintance.
Acquaintance climbed the mountain of Aoyama in Mie Prefecture, and taking pictures at the top.
That's the photo below.

Wind power generation can be seen. In Japan, there is a growing idea that does not depend on thermal power and nuclear power. Therefore, solar power and wind power generation has increased. Looking at the pictures of acquaintances, I have realized an increase in wind power generation.
I do not want wind power to destroy the forest.
However, in the landscape of this photo, wind power has been felt even in as in harmony with the landscape.

The body of the color of the Hankyu train

Hankyu is a private railway connecting Kyoto, Osaka and Kobe. The body of the color of this railway has been unified in wine red. 

Photo is the vehicle of Hankyu train. Body color is officially referred to as Marrone. 
I like this color.

Miniature of the carp streamer on the cake

I wrote about "carp streamer" in the May 1 day, 2 days. I met a photo of the cake in a cafe on May 3, yesterday.

 

 

 

By a small carp streamer, strawberry short cake looked more cute. Miniature of the carp streamer, it is an interesting design.
Culture that values the pretty things and a sense of the season has been alive in modern Japan.
Cake was delicious!

 

"Koinobori" (carp streamer) 2

I wrote about "Koinobori"(the carp streamer) of Japan in the last blog.
This is a traditional design.
The other day, I saw an interesting illumination in the grand staircase of the Kyoto Station Building. It's illumination of Koinoboriri.
I was struck by the fusion of traditional design and contemporary representation techniques.

In Japan, May 5 day's the day of the children.
To this day, parents set a carp streamer, celebrate the growth of children.
This traditional customs have also been diminished than before.
However, it is possible to see a carp streamer also in urban areas.
I saw a carp streamer lined up a lot in the underground city of Kyoto Station.
My heart's calmed down.

Kumamoto earthquake

The other day there was a big earthquake in Kumamoto Prefecture. Seismic intensity of the earthquake was 7.
Aftershocks have frequently followed.
In the area of which damage was terrible , a lot of people are living in shelters.
I just pray a speedy recovery.

Earthquakes frequently occur in Japan.
People are accustomed.
If you are experiencing an earthquake, you may follow the instructions at that time.

"Yamabuki"-Bright yellow flowers-

The season of cherry blossoms is over in Kyoto, but bright yellow flowers has been blooming. 
In Japanese this flower is called "Ysmabuki". 

I calm the feeling looking at the flower of Yamabuki.

A variety of cherry blossoms in Kyoto

In the town of Kyoto, the season of the Someiyoshino cherry tree was over almost. 
However, you can still see the other cherry blossoms. 
The many in Kyoto city, is a weeping cherry tree. 

You can also see a double cherry now. 

Sakura seen last in Kyoto city flower is the "cherry Omuro" of Ninna-ji Temple.
I can enjoy Sakura still.

Someiyosino cherry tree that is loved in Japan

The majority of Japan now is facing a season of cherry blossom. 
In Japan, you can see a variety of cherry blossoms, but the blossom you can see most is a Yoshino cherry tree. 

This flower will bloom all at once in the absence of leaves. After the flower has fallen, the leaves will trees grow. 
Beauty of fall flowers seems to fit the feelings of the Japanese people. I also love the Yoshino cherry tree.

Spring of taste, "Hotaruika"

"Hotaruika" in Japanese language is a small squid. 
In Japan, you can eat the delicious squid in the spring.

"Ekiben" 7 :Lunches sold in stations of Japan

I went in the bullet train to Tochigi Prefecture from Kyoto last month.
I bought the station lunch at Tokyo Station at that time.
That's the photo below.

The lunch is a Yokohama specialty "Shumai bentou", dumplings lunch.
I tasted the ingredients of Chinese cuisine. Dishes are arranged to suit the Japanese taste.
There is the largest Chinatown of Japan in Yokohama.
I felt the lunch box to symbolize such a Yokohama.
I want to recommend this station lunch to you.

Genuine cherry in the underground shopping center

Today, I went to the district Umeda underground shopping center. 

I saw the cherry tree in the atrium of the square. 

I thought it would be imitation. 

However, forecasts were wrong. 

I approached and noticed that the cherry tree was real. 

In the previous blog, I wrote about cherry imitation. 

Today's Sakura in the underground mall  was different. 

I was impressed with the people that care the cherry blossoms!

It will be apparent cherry blossoms in various places, but, such as shopping mall and underground shopping center has been decorated by imitation.

Today, "Sakura",which is cherry blossom in Japanese, had begun to bloom in the neighborhood. 
Only one flower bloomed in the tree.
I was impressed at the sight. 
Cherry blossom season began in Kyoto.

"Tsubaki" Camellia

I visited the home of Tochigi Prefecture, the other day. 
Camellia has bloomed in the garden. In japanese it is called"Tsubaki."

Camellia is a flower that Japanese samurai loved. 
When camellia flowers fall, the entire flower will fall in one fell swoop. 
Samurai saw a graciousness to it. 
So samurai loved the camellia.
Me,too.
Do you like Camellia?

Toki dancing in the body of the bullet train

Eye was caught the sight of the graceful birds dancing in the car body in the Tokyo Station.

It was Toki drawn on the vehicle of the Hokuriku Shinkansen "Toki".

Its scientific name Nipponia nippon. Nippon means Japan in Japanese. Toki is deep bird related to Japan. 
But it is endangered, a Niigata prefecture of birds, have been known to be living in the Sado Island.

Toki looks white when it closes the wings.
But the underside of the wings is a dark pink tinged with vermilion, and the figure which fly to expand the wings, seems to flap a pink feather, is grace. 
In Japan we have been calling the color of the feathers and Toki color.

The Toki of design has superb representation of the image of the Hokuriku Shinkansen connecting the Kanto Shinetsu Hokuriku as flapping.
