Mount Hiei – A Revised Reflection from Kyoto

Mount Hiei is one of the sacred places of Japan.

At its summit stands Enryakuji, the head temple of the Tendai sect, where the Eternal Flame has been kept burning for more than a thousand years.

Mount Hiei in Kyoto

Since the capital moved to Heian‑kyo, Mount Hiei has quietly watched over the city of Kyoto.

Whenever I look at this mountain, I feel a deep sense of calm.

Visitors can reach the summit not only by car, but also by taking the cable car and ropeway.

The slow ascent through the forest is part of the charm, and many travelers enjoy the journey itself.

If you come to Kyoto, I hope you will take a moment to view Mount Hiei.

It is a place where time seems to move gently.

Mikumiku Sakura Bloom (みくみく咲くら)

Sakura, Mikumiku blooming Sakura

(Sakura, Mikumiku saku sakura)

Softly and fluffy blooming Sakura

(Fuwa-fuwa saku sakura)

Heart-throbbing and blooming Sakura

(Kyun-kyun saku sakura)

I’ll make your favorite cherry blossoms bloom all over this town.

(Kono machi ni kimi ga daisuki na sakura no hana wo sakaseru no)

Sakura, the buds are swelling big

(Sakura, tsubomi ga fukurande)

Opening the doors of Spring

(Haru no tobira wo hiraku)

Waking up again this year

(Kotoshi mo mezameru)

I am the spirit of the cherry blossoms.

(Watashi wa hana no sei, Sakura no)

Freezing in the cold, chilly wind

(Tsumetai kaze ni kogoeteta)

I’ll melt your frozen heart

(Kimi no kokoro wo hogusu yo)

Setting off on a journey to deliver these petals to you.

(Sakura no hanabira todoke ni tabidatsu no)

Bad things, sad things, let’s forget them for a while

(Iya na koto, kanashii koto mo, shibaraku wasurete hana wo tanoshinde)

Come and see them with your own eyes

(Jissai ni sono me de tashikamete)

Please come to see me, when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom.

(Ai ni kite ne, sakura no hana ippai saku koro ni)

Sakura, Mikumiku blooming Sakura

(Sakura, Mikumiku saku sakura)

Softly and fluffy blooming Sakura

(Fuwa-fuwa saku sakura)

Heart-throbbing and blooming Sakura

(Kyun-kyun saku sakura)

Sakura, Papi-papi blooming Sakura

(Sakura, Pani-pani saku sakura)

Piko-piko blooming Sakura

(Piko-piko saku sakura)

Puru-puru blooming Sakura

(Puru-puru saku sakura)

I’ll make your favorite cherry blossoms bloom all over this town.

(Kono machi ni kimi ga daisuki na sakura no hana wo sakaseru no)

(Chorus Repeat)

I’ll color this whole country with the cherry blossoms you love so much.

(Kono kuni wo kimi ga daisuki na sakura no hana de irodoru no)

Cherry Blossoms & A New Beginning: A VOCALOID Love Song from Nikko

Cherry blossoms are in full bloom across Japan in early April 2026. I am happy to announce that I’m restarting this blog!

I have updated my VOCALOID songs on YouTube with English descriptions and a fresh perspective. This particular track is a love song set in the Nikko Cedar Avenue, a beautiful World Heritage site. It captures the bittersweet yet warm emotions of pure, teenage love.

Era of Reiwa

In Japan, "Gengou" has been used since 645.

"Gengou" is a calendar system used in China, and "Gengou" was born from the idea that a monarch ruled time.
It was once used throughout East Asia.
However, "Gengou" is just left in Japan.

A new emperor has been appointed from May 1, 2019.
At the same time, "Gengou" was switched.
It changed from "Heisei" to "Reiwa".

I went to the sea on May 1st. I wanted to spend the first day of the peace period in the sea.
Japan is an island country.
I wanted to feel the blessings of the sea once again on a commemorative day (^-^)

Green cherry blossoms

I went to Osaka cherry blossom view on April 17.
It's on the premises of Osaka Mint. There are lots of beautiful double cherry blossoms.

I was robbed of green cherry blossoms.
The flower looks whitish in the picture, but in reality the flower is light green.

Green cherry blossoms are pretty rare than white cherry blossoms.
I felt I was fortunate this day.

If you visit Osaka in mid-April, I would like you to visit Osaka Mint Bureau.

I love cherry blossoms.
So I am distributing original songs singing cherry blossoms.
iTunes, Spotify, amazon and so on. The HP address is on my "profile column. Or search with "mikan tomo".

White cherry blossoms

Speaking of cherry blossoms in Japan, a pink petal is also imaged.
However, cherry blossoms of various colors can be seen in Japan.

For example, white cherry. Today, I saw a white cherry tree in a neighborhood river. I felt fresh and beautiful.

If you visit Kyoto during the cherry blossom season, please also look at the white cherry blossoms.

Midoro pond in Kyoto 1

Midoro pond lies in the northern part of the city of Kyoto. This pond is endowed with valuable biological layer. Ice Age of the vegetation remains even now. A lot of aquatic plants and aquatic insects can also be seen. The other day, I visited the pond. Wind was refreshing. A small dragonfly was flying in the pond. If you are interested in the environment and the ecosystem, the pond will be interesting for you.

Camellia has bloomed in the garden. In japanese it is called"Tsubaki."

Camellia is a flower that Japanese samurai loved.
When camellia flowers fall, the entire flower will fall in one fell swoop.
Samurai saw a graciousness to it.
So samurai loved the camellia.
Me,too.
Do you like Camellia?
