Gion festival is over

Speaking of the festival in Kyoto, the Gion Festival in July is famous. 
This festival will be held throughout July. 

It is the pilgrimage of the Yamaboko that takes notice. Currently it is done twice. 

Kyoto citizens are looking forward to the night festival during the Gion festival. 
I also visited in late July. The picture below is that. So I enjoyed cooking stalls and appreciated the magic show. 

I could see the mountain pavilions on the road. It was a good night.

Limited Express Spacia

The other day I visited Nikko city, Tochigi prefecture.

So I met a variety of vehicles.
It is the limited express "Spacia" that caught my eye.
That is a limited express of Tobu Railway.

The limited express bounds Tokyo with Nikko and Kinugawa.
I shot it at Shimamachi station.

Purple and blue belt was felt beautifully in streamlined shape.

If you travel in Japan, you can also enjoy the design of rail cars.

"TOKUSATSU"

Japanese pop culture has genre called "TOKUSATSU".
 For example, Masked Rider series and the squadron.
These are famous for being televised on Sunday morning.
I watghed them on TV on young age.

You can also see them at the cosplay event.

Singing Japanese animation songs in English 2

May 23 I went to a park in Hirakata City, Osaka Prefecture.
It is to play the guitar with MASA who was guitar unit. 

There was about an hour by the meeting time, so I was playing the guitar in the park.
Then a man about 20 years old requested songs.

I played the English version of "Cruel Angel 's Thesis".
This song is the opening song of "Neon Genesis Evangelion".
He seems to have been fresh for English "cruel angel 's thesis".

I got momentum on my plan for singing anime songs in English.

Rugby World Cup draw in Kyoto

Rugby World Cup combination drawing was held in Kyoto City on May 10.
It is the first time for draws to be held outside the UK and Ireland.
I am also honored as a Kyoto citizen.

Yasaka Shrine

The World Cup will be held in Japan in 2019.
Though Japanese team is still not strong, I would like to expect the team's success.
And if you read this, your country will play, I also want to pray for your country's success.

Singing Japanese animation songs in English

What I am aiming for recently is singing Japanese anime songs in English.
Because my original songs are heard more abroad than in Japan.
I want to live music overseas.
Also, I want to live music for those who visit Japan.

So, what I am practicing now is the song of the animation "Neon Genesis Evangelion".
For me it is difficult to sing in English.
However, I trust that practice will overcome difficulties.

I am looking forward to the day you can let the song be listened to in my English.

Fun of the cosplay event in Japan

Cosplay is essential to talk about contemporary Japanese pop culture. 
It is , in short, "costume play". And it is a type of performance art to enjoy contents as being dressed as animation and game characters with wearing costumes and accessories to represent a specific character or idea.
Events that enjoy cosplay are held on holidays throughout Japan. 
On April 30, I enjoyed the cosplay event held in Kyoto. Various coslayers competed for beauty and expression. The picture is a character "Rem:" which appears in "Re: Zero world life starting from zero". The cosplayer  is Kanami. 

Kanami attracted many photographers.

I was impressed by her expressiveness. If you are interested in Japanese pop culture, please look over the cosplay event during the trip to Japan!

Osaka Nipponbashi 2

It is the continuation of the last blog.
Osaka Nipponbashi is also a place where many electric shops gather.
There are also delicious stores with reasonable prices.

In Nipponbashi, I go out to music live, participate in pop culture events, buy contents.
And I am looking forward to going to Osaka Nipponbashi for meals.

Green cherry blossoms

I went to Osaka cherry blossom view on April 17.

It's on the premises of Osaka Mint. There are lots of beautiful double cherry blossoms.

 

I was robbed of green cherry blossoms.

The flower looks whitish in the picture, but in reality the flower is light green.

 

Green cherry blossoms are pretty rare than white cherry blossoms.

I felt I was fortunate this day.

Pleasure of cherry blossom viewing

Today I went cherry blossom viewing along the Shukugawa in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture. This place has been chosen as one hundred cherry blossoms in Japan.
Beautiful cherry blossoms were in full bloom.
I had a pleasant moment.

Season of cherry blossoms

Speaking of Japanese flowers is cherry blossoms. 
Kyoto is the season of cherry blossoms now. 

It bloomed later than usual. 
In addition, people can enjoy cherry blossoms in various places in Kyoto for 1 or 2 weeks.

Rokkakudo Hexagonal temple~ The birthplace of Ikebana ~

In the middle of bustling street near Karasuma Oike, there is a temple with hexagonal shape. 
This is a Buddhist temple Chouhouji known as Rokkakudo for its hexagonal shape of the main temple.

It is regarded as the birthplace of Ikebana which is Japanese  flower arrangement.

The spring willow is beautiful in Hakkodo. I like to watch this big willow in the spring.

Maiko in Kyoto

On the previous blog I wrote about maiko. 

Maiko is a symbol of Kyoto culture. 
Today, I saw the maiko at the square of Kyoto station of the subway. 
They came for PR of new crackers. 

Maiko is not uncommon in Kyoto city, but also attracted people's attention. 
A shooting corner was also set up.
I had my picture taken with maiko. 
It was a good time!

"Sentiment" with snow symbolized

It snowed in Kyoto during the weekend. 
On Monday I met sight of the photographs at the Kamogawa Riverside in Kyoto. 

「大」, this letter of "memorial" that fire on August 16 was symbolized in the snow. 
It means kanji meaning big. 
Nature sometimes does fun things!

Hatsumode ～to visit shrines at the beginning of the year～

In Japan it is customary to visit shrines at the beginning of the year. 
There are many people going regardless of religion. 
There are many shrines in Kyoto city with many customers at first. 
I went to Yasaka Shrine in Gion. ↓

I renewed gratitude and determination with prayer.
